Bloodstone Rough. Bloodstone is solid dark green, with flecks of red (these flecks might not appear in smaller pieces). Bloodstone is a Heliotrope stone that occurs in massive formations, where dark Green Chalcedony is flecked with Haematite and Red Jasper inclusions. It is believed that the first specimen was first formed when the blood of Christ fell to the foot of the cross, staining the Jasper around the site and changing it into Bloodstone.
